James Hudson
QIMR
Professor James Hudson is a Group Leader of the Cardiac Bioengineering Lab at QIMR Berghofer. As an inaugural Snow Medical Research Fellow, James’s group is now generating a ‘Cardiopedia’, which, together with systems engineering aims to comprehensively unveil the molecular processes governing cardiac function. His lab has a particular focus on the role of inflammation in cardiac dysfunction, which is a key factor in genetic cardiomyopathies, ageing and HFpEF. He is focused on translating these basic molecular underpinnings by drug screening in the organoids, including activities as a Founding Scientist of Dynomics (a Bay Area VC funded start-up).
